Rc-Hex Sol - Chlorhexidine Solution

Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2% Solution- A powerful irrigation for disinfecting root canals. RC – Hex Solution is a solution for irrigating and disinfecting the cavity and root canal. It is the most potent agent with its antifungal anti bacterial properties and is effective on both vegetative and spore forms.

Effective Formula: Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHX) at 2% concentration effectively eliminates a wide range of bacteria and fungi within the root canal system.

• Disinfection of root canals during endodontic treatment

• Final irrigation step after mechanical preparation

• Irrigation in re-treatment cases

• Pre-suturing rinse in periodontal procedures

Root Canal Irrigation:

• Perform initial root canal preparation with mechanical and chemical methods.

• Rinse canal with sterile saline to remove debris.

• Dry the canal with sterile paper points.

• Using an irrigation syringe with a side-vented needle or disposable pipette, irrigate the canal with 1–2 ml of RC–Hex Solution.

• Avoid extrusion beyond the apical foramen.

• Remove excess solution with sterile paper points.

• If delaying obturation, place a sterile cotton pellet in the cavity and seal with a temporary filling.

In Periodontics:

• Rinse the surgical site with RC–Hex Solution prior to suturing for antimicrobial cleansing.

• Strong bactericidal and fungicidal activity

• Effective against both vegetative forms and spores

• Substantivity: prolonged antimicrobial effect within the canal

• Non-tissue-dissolving, making it suitable for final irrigation

• Excellent penetration in dentinal tubules

• Keep container tightly closed

• Do not mix RC–Hex with Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl).
  A brown precipitate may form, which is cytotoxic.

• If using both (Sodium Hypochlorite & Chlorhexidine), thoroughly flush with sterile water or saline in between.
