• Papain- A proteolytic enzyme that selectively breaks down infected (necrotic) dentin without affecting healthy tissue.

• Bromelain- A natural enzyme complex that enhances proteolytic action, helping in efficient softening and removal of carious dentin.

• Soft/infected Caries 

• Deep carious lesions (near pulp)

• Wide or difficult-to-access cavities 

• Residual caries removal after cavity preparation

• Known allergy to papain, bromelain, or any component   

• Initial Preparation
  Remove overlying enamel, unsupported structure, or existing restorations using a rotary instrument, if required. 

• Apply Gel
  Apply DCRP gel directly into the cavity, ensuring complete coverage of the carious part. 

• Allow Penetration
  Ensure the gel thoroughly saturates the carious tooth. 

• Waiting Time
  Leave undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to allow enzymatic softening of dental caries. 

• Caries Removal
  Gently remove the softened caries using a spoon excavator.
  Avoid forceful scraping, flushing, or drying during this step. 

• Repeat if Required
  Reapply the gel and repeat the process until the tooth surface feels hard and caries-free. 

• Avoid contact with eyes 

• Rinse immediately if contact occurs
